The second year class representatives with their Mentors made contact with Team Hope and organised a Shoe Box Appeal for poor children in Eastern Europe and Africa. The response from the Second Year Group exceeded our expectations with all 210 students contributing to the project.

This project was launched and completed over a three week period. While the Senior Mentors oversaw the collection, a group of second years headed up by Dylan Boyle, Lukas Kasluazkas, Cian Anderson and Ciaran Mathews volunteered to check each box. All involved were impressed by the thoughtfulness, variety and usefulness of the presents given for Christmas. In total, 162 boxes with a cash contribution of €190 towards transport costs, were donated to Team Hope on 12th November.

Our Senior Mentors and the Second Year students can feel justly proud of their efforts that will bring joy to poor children this Christmas.
