Invite to Parents Open Day September 2025

Dear Parent(s)/Guardians(s),

I wish to advise you that Castleknock Community College will be hosting an Open Afternoon and Evening for prospective First Year Applicants to the College in September 2026.

The following is an outline of the programme for Wednesday 17th September 2025:

3.00p.m. -5.00p.m.     Invitation to Parent(s) & Guardian(s)/Students to visit classrooms and view facilities

7.30p.m. – 9.00p.m.    Invitation for Parent(s) & Guardian(s) only to attend a presentation by the Principal and other Senior Staff.  This presentation will be of particular interest to first time parents to Castleknock Community College. Parents of existing students are not required to attend. Presentations will be made on the following areas:

 

  • Update on College Enrolment Policy 2026-27.

 

  • Castleknock Community College – Development, Education Programme.

 

  • Pastoral support for students.

 

  • Student achievement and parental involvement.

 

  • Curriculum outline and subject options.

Our Admissions Policy & Procedures is under review to ensure it is in keeping with the Education (Admissions Schools) Act 2019.

  • Annual Admissions Notice for First Year 2026 – Available from Wednesday 24th September*.

 

  • Admissions Policy & Procedures and Application Forms for First Year 2026 – Available to download from the website from Wednesday 24th September*.

 

  • The College will accept application forms from Wednesday 1st October* and not prior to this date. It is expected that the application window will be open for a three-week period.

*All the above dates are subject to ratification by  the BOM

Please note that in 2025 we received 566 Applications for 240 places.  Consequently, a significant number of applicants living in the catchment area did not secure a place at Castleknock Community College.
