LC1 student Katie Kenny Byrne was crowned Leinster Senior Schools Individual Debating Champion when she saw off the competition from eleven other debaters at the Grand Final in Trinity College on March 24th, opposing the motion Supporting the Decline of the USA as a Global Superpower.
The competition, now in its thirty fourth year, is co-covened by the Trinity Hist & UCD L&H societies and this year almost three hundred speakers competed.
Following her victory, Katie who is the current Debating Society Auditor, competed in the National Final in University College Cork where she finished in 2nd Place.
