Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
As you are aware, a Student March has been arranged for this coming Friday the 15th March. The Climate Strike March is an international event that is been organised in 82 countries worldwide. Students are hoping to create greater awareness in relation to Climate Change and its consequences for future generations.
The College supports the students’ campaign however it does not have any direct role in the campaign. To that end students who plan to be absent from school on Friday must have a note to that effect. Students are required to present a note of absence to their tutor in advance of Friday.
It is my understanding that students will assemble at St Stephen’s Green at 12.00 midday on Friday 15th March and make their way to Dáil Eireann.
The important message I wish to share with you is that the College supports the students’ campaign but does not have any role in supervision/stewarding/transporting students to or at the event.
